NHỮNG TẤM LÒNG NHÂN ÁI


Từ một nước xa xôi đầy gian khổ
Thêm chiến tranh tàn phá nát quê hương
Dân tộc tôi vì thời cuộc nhiễu nhương
Ôm mối hận ra đi tìm đất sống...

Trên thế giới có bao nhiêu thành phố
Dân Việt tôi chẳng thiếu mặt nơi nào
Từ những nơi tuyết phủ núi đồi cao
Thân tị nạn xin bằng lòng tất cả.

Hai bảy năm bềnh bồng nơi xứ lạ
Người gặp cơ may nên cửa nên nhà
Tạo công danh xứng mặt Việt Nam ta
Cũng có kẻ thân tàn theo vận nước!

Hai bảy năm bao nhiêu là ân phước
Của Hoa Kỳ, Đức, Pháp, Úc, Canada
Giúp dân tôi trong cuộc sống vừa qua
Có đầy đủ cả tinh thần và vật chất...

Riêng về tôi... mười năm nơi đất khách
Thấy tự do, báo chí, thấy nhân quyền
Thấy văn minh tân tiến khắp mọi miền
Siêng làm việc, học hành là thành đạt.

Xin cám ơn bao tấm lòng nhân ái
Bằng lời thơ chân thật của tim tôi
Nguyện trong tâm dân Việt sẽ một đời
Tận tâm phục vụ nơi mình định cư...

THE HUMANE HEARTS


From a far-away hardship-ridden country,
A war-ravaged native land sunk in welter,
My people, trying to survive troubled times,
Swallowed resentment to flee and seek shelter.

How many cities there are on the globe,
My Vietnamese compatriots are in most present;
Even on the snow-covered high mountain areas,
We, as refugees, willingly accepted, pleasant.

Twenty seven years adrift in this new country,
Many have luckily succeeded getting homes to own,
Creating positions and fame worthy of being Viet,
Though some with their old state into perils thrown.

Twenty seven years, so much favor and felicity!
The US, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, so on
Have so far helped our folks in their lives with
Physical and intellectual comforts to build upon.

As for me... ten years in this foreign land
I have witnessed freedoms, press, human rights,
Civilization, modernization everywhere
As hard working, hard studying lead to heights.

Thank you for all of your humane hearts
With my genuine rhymes of inmost laudation.
We Vietnamese communities pledge devotion
To lifetime service to every resettlement nation...
